Philippe

Philippe has been practising yoga for more than 30 years having been inspired by his yoga teacher grandmother (who still teaches in her mid 80s). Philippe has practised in a diverse range of yoga traditions, and in 2010 was introduced to a radically contemporary way of teaching and learning yoga inspired by the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli. His teaching today is based on this approach.

Philippe works with students by inviting them to find a felt-sense of release, openness and freedom in the body through a deep connection with gravity. “Force and a sense of fixing or conquering the body are never helpful. They only ever succeed in distancing you from your self, your body and the environment” (Giovanni Felicioni). Instead Philippe encourages students to experience movement that springs from playfulness and curiosity. “You will be amazed to discover that, if you are kind to your body, it will respond in an incredible way (Vanda Scaravelli).

Philippe has taught in adult education for the past 20 years. He also teaches mindfulness and meditation. Philippe is currently completing a British Wheel accredited 500 hour teacher training Diploma with the LYTTC.
