Roxanne Halsey

bio pictureWhen she was a teenager, Roxanne suffered from chronic back pain caused by scoliosis of the spine. After trying many solutions, she found that a regular yoga practice was the only thing to relieve the pain and bring strength. Since then, she has been in love with the transformational power of this practice.

Five years later she decided to train as a teacher so that she could share her passion and create classes that bring together all the elements of yoga that inspire her. She studied traditional hatha asana, pranayama and meditation in India, and has since completed a 100 hr Anusara immersion with Bridget Woods-Kramer in London.

In her spare time Roxanne is an activist and campaigner, and is passionate about the ways that a regular yoga practice can support activism by offering a space for self-inquiry, empowerment and self-care.
She is influenced by meditation and mindfulness, and brings this inward focus into her teaching. Her classes blend together flowing movements and longer-held postures that go deeper into the body. They are always light-hearted and playful, encouraging students to challenge themselves whilst honoring their own experience.
